In the modern visual effects industry, the notion of freelancing has become commonplace. Because of the turbulent nature of the post-production industry, visual effects companies often find it difficult to sustain a large staff. Unfortunately, many artists find the effort to continually "line up the next job" distracts and discourages them from their pursuits. Similarly, visual effects companies, swamped by resumes, demo reels, and references frequently find it difficult to sort through a growing pool of talent to secure talented, reliable artists. Digital Artists Agency represents its artists, connects them with companies, and enables each to focus on what they do best. Our philosophy stems from our respect for the association between the producer and the artist. Our aim is to see that this very important relationship be furthered, not compromised. As such, we encourage companies to have direct communications with our clients on all matters creative and logistic. We get involved when the parties want to move forward and terms and rates need to be discussed. |

Our priority is the artist. Unlike employment agencies who are hired by companies to filter through the talent pool, we as talent agents work the other way around, representing the artist to the company. We work with our clients to evaluate their skills and abilities, to determine their career ambitions, and guide them. We seek out positions in their chosen field and make every effort to match our clients with companies that need them. While a majority of our active artists work as freelancers, we also place artists in staff positions if and when it meets their needs. When placing an artist with a company, we represent their interests in all aspects of their employment including contracts and compensation. Although we maintain an active database of potential clients and occasionally assist them as well, we chose to represent only a select group of skilled artists at any given time. |
By maintaining a varied portfolio of "tried and true" artists from many fields of visual effects, we are able to provide producers and companies with quick, reliable access to available artists with proven track records. In addition to saving employers the frustrations and risks of seeking out unfamiliar artists, many of our artists have worked together in the past, which further optimizes staffing a job by acquiring a team of familiar artists working in concert. Because we are stringent in whom we represent, our artists also tend to be versatile, experienced, reliable, and production-oriented. We represent industry-leading Visual Effects Supervisors, Visual Effects Producers, Compositors, 3D Artists, Technical Directors, Matte Painters, Visual Effects Designers, and many artists talented in all fields related to Visual Effects, for freelance and staff positions. |
