Bernd Angerer Animation Supervisor

Profile:

Bernd got in touch with computer graphics in the late 1980s during his study of sound engineering at the “Academy of Performing Arts” in Vienna.

In those early years Bernd started working with 2d and 3d computer graphics for the creation of digital effects and character animation for TV-commercials and music videos.
In 1996, following an invitation to join James Cameron’s team for the feature “Titanic”, Bernd continued his career in Los Angeles as character animator and consequently as animation- and cg-supervisor for Digital Domain and from 2005 on at Sony Pictures Imageworks.

In 2007 Bernd re-joined Digital Domain to continue his path as Animation Supervisor on projects like “Gi-Joe”, “Tron Legacy” and most recently “X-Men first class”.

Bernd’s main focus has been:

- photorealistic and cartoony character animation
- conceptual 3d pre-visualizations

Between 1997 and 2011 Bernd received several awards and nominations for his digital
animations in Television commercials and he contributed his skills as lead animator on 18 motion pictures.

By now Bernd has two decades of experience in leading teams of various sizes and is skilled in communicating with clients and artists alike.
His hands-on, artistic approach has earned him an industry wide reputation.
